If you lose your iPhone or forget your Apple ID and password, there are many reasons to change your Apple ID. You may want to protect your privacy or use a new email address instead. Whatever your reasons, here's how to find and change your Apple ID and create a new one from your iPhone.

What is Apple ID?

Your Apple ID is the account name used to login to all your Apple devices. Additionally, you may not use certain Apple products and services such as FaceTime, iCloud, or iMessage.

Your Apple ID will be used to set up all your subscriptions, locate your lost Apple device, download my old purchases, and locate my app.

How do you know your Apple ID?

If you do not remember your Apple ID, you can find it on any of your Apple devices by opening the Settings app from your home screen. Then, tap your name at the top of the screen and you will see the Apple ID with your name at the top of the next screen.

 If you do not have an Apple device, you can go to iforgot.apple.com and check it out to find your Apple ID. You will be asked to provide the first and last parts of the name along with your email address.

How to change Apple ID and password 

• Open the Settings' app. This is the gear icon on your home screen.
• Tap your name at the top of your screen. This button is called Apple ID, iCloud, iTunes, App Store.
• Scroll down and press sign.
• Enter your password and press Disable.
• Next, choose whether or not to create a backup. If you choose to create a backup, it will copy your data to iCloud.
• Then click Sign out. In the pop-up box, click out again to confirm the operation.

• Then press Sign In. If you want to create a new Apple ID, go to the next section.
• Finally, type in your new Apple ID and password, and then tap. 

After logging in, go back to the Settings app's main page and check if you have any notifications as per Apple ID instructions. You need to check your email and update your Apple ID settings. If you see any of these, tap them and follow the on-screen instructions.

• Then click Create Apple ID in the pop-up menu.
• Enter your name and date of birth and click Next.
• Then enter your email address. You do not even have an email address to get a real iCloud email address, you can use it as your Apple ID.
• Enter the password. It will be your Apple ID password, so choose what you remember.
• Tap Accept Terms and Conditions on screen. Tap Accept again in the pop-up menu to confirm.
